March is Women's History Month and I thought that it would be interesting to spotlight a different set of picture books each week. The final group of books celebrates women politicians. The following seven books focus on First Ladies, Supreme Court Justice, Vice President, Senator, and Congresswoman. The previous weeks centered on  STEM ,  Sports ,  History , and The Arts .

The following then books focus on aviation, creating a national flag, starting a business, becoming and detective, inventing, creating celebrations. The following previous weeks centered on  STEM ,  Sports , and  History . Next week, the final installment of this series is about  Politics .

There are several things that I am looking for in a good picture book. Is the book well-written and entertaining? Does it provide any learning lessons? Does it have captivating illustrations? Will a kid want to read it again? Will an adult? Finally, I love it when books find creative ways to be interactive. It reminds me of when I was a kid and read The Monster at the End of This Book . Grover spoke directly to the reader and the act of turning the page affected the story. These qualities are all factors that I took into account when ranking this list. S t. Patrick's Days was always a favorite holiday of mine when I was younger. I liked pinching people that didn't wear green. And searching for four-leaf clovers in my yard. But what I, and I would venture to say most people, liked most about the holiday were the leprechauns. I was fascinated by the thought that I could get a pot of gold or wishes by capturing them. I loved how the whole thing relied on cunning and intellect.  The following books do a great job of capturing the essence of the holiday.

Last year, I compiled a list of lists not only to determine the  Top 25 Picture Books of 2020  but also to help me pick books to do read aloud videos for the YouTube channel . I found a lot of success finding new books this way and am back with the 2021 version. If I have posted a read aloud, I have included it below. The first thing that I did was collect all 535 titles and narrowed them down to the most commonly occurring titles. Each of the following books was on at least four of the state reading lists.
